An added benefit of learning to fly at X04 is added efficiency.   Since the airport is uncontrolled and outside of Class B airspace, you are off the ground quick and the practice area (an informal area relatively clear traffic) begins just to the west of Orlando Apopka Airport.  That means more time practicing your skills and less waiting for takeoff and flying to the practice area.  You have to fly a minimum number of hours, so why not make them count??
